The Weleda Top 10 – A beautician’s best of the best

Who knows the range better than a Weleda beautician. I asked Míša what her top products are. Knowing what products are right for us can be challenging stuff. That’s why I thought I’d go straight to the expert – Míša, a Weleda beautician at the Prague Weleda salon and shop and ask her what are her top 10 products and why. “Weleda is certified natural cosmetics that cares for the skin without burdening it. Because it’s made from plants, it allows the skin to breathe freely and does not clog the pores, it does not contain mineral oils and respects the environment.” Míša – Weleda beautician Míša‘s Top 10 “To build the suspense I’ll do the beauty countdown to my number one product.” Míša – Weleda beautician 10) After sun milk To get started, I love the After Sun Milk after sunbathing. It’s a hot new feature in our Weleda assortment. I adore its refreshing smell! It reminds me of summer and holiday time. It has Aloe Vera which calms the skin after sunbathing while …

Green makeup masterclass with eco makeup artist Lou Dartford

60% of anything we put on our skin gets absorbed into our bodies. Cleaning up our beauty bag is as important as our detoxifying our diet. I was lucky enough to attend the MUA Cleaner Beauty Masterclass with London makeup artists for the launch of Weleda’s new BB creams and Wild Rose facial range. I was even luckier still to be the model for eco makeup artist Lou Dartford as she showed the range off to a room full of London based make-up artists by creating a live demonstration of a natural, bridal beauty look on little old me. Weleda Wellness Advisor, Caroline Burke also spoilt me rotten with a Wild Rose facial whilst she taught the makeup artists about natural skincare. “I think clean beauty is about being conscious – being aware of what you’re using. Ask yourself… What’s in it Where does it come from? Is it ethical? Do the companies treat people fairly? How does the company care for the planet? Weleda Wellness Advisor, Caroline Burke Lou transitioned her very impressive makeup …

This is going to sounds really corny but it starts with knowing who you are. It’s nothing to do with the products you put on your skin. It’s the light shining through you. And I think when you know who you are, and you love yourself – the good and the bad …

Our skin needs food too

What we put on our skin should be good enough to eat. With our skin being the largest organ of our bodies and since it absorbs whatever you put on it – why should it be any different? A recent study shows that over 90% of people find it just as important to know what you put on your skin as what you eat. This is great news that we are thinking this way. Why? Because… A study for the American Journal of Public Health looked at the skin’s absorption rate of chemicals found in drinking water. They showed that it absorbed 64% of contaminants. Other research projects found the face to be several times more absorbent than larger, boarder body areas and that the underarms and genitalia were the most absorbent of all – taking in 100% of chemicals. Scary stuff. Skin Food Facials with my Global Garden sister, Phoebe. My Global Garden sister, Phoebe and I were lucky enough to be treated to a Skin Food Facial and hand massage by the team …
